Recovery Train

Vibe: Therapeutic

Music: Indie, House, EDM, Pop, Folk

Raised in Toronto, sports played a significant role in Alyssa’s childhood. After moving to Newfoundland as a teenager, she found a new appreciation for the outdoors and was drawn to staying active at the gym.

She is a Registered Massage Therapist, a career that gives her an advanced understanding of the human body and how movement shapes our day-to-day lives. Alyssa believes that motion is lotion, and views movement as an important part of caring for your body, whether that’s through building strength or simply showing up for yourself.

In Alyssa’s Train classes, expect to be challenged in a safe and encouraging environment, with a strong emphasis on functional movement and proper form. She coaches with a hands-on approach when needed, so that you can move with trust and confidence. Her Recovery sessions will guide you through a reconnection to your body through targeted myofascial release and deep, restorative stretch work. Her choice of music always matches the vibe: upbeat EDM and pop anthems to push a little further in Train, and softer melodies for when you need to slow down and settle into Recovery.

Alyssa believes that the best way to encourage someone is to put in the effort alongside them. Expect to feel challenged and motivated, with Alyssa cheering you on as both a coach and a team mate.

Outside of the studio, she is a dedicated dog mom and a golden hour devotee.

“Alyssa, you're a staple at the studio. I always feel relaxed after taking your classes and you show each move with such skill and detail. There's no way we're messing it up after you've shown us and spoke about how we should move – perfect for Train! Can't wait to move with ya again.”
